Who we are

Verity Partners is a founder-led recruitment and talent consultancy based in South Africa. This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you use veritypartners.co.za, brief us on a vacancy, or apply for a role through us.

We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). For this policy, Verity Partners is the “responsible party”.

Information we collect

We only collect what we need to recruit well. Most of it comes directly from you.

Clients and employers

Candidates

Website visitors

We do not ask for special personal information (such as health, religion or criminal record) unless the law or a specific role requires it. If it does, we ask for your consent first.

How we use and share it

We use your information to match the right people with the right roles, and for nothing unrelated to that.

We rely on your consent, on steps needed to provide a service you asked for, on our legitimate interest in running a recruitment business, or on a legal duty. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information.

Clients outside South Africa

Some of our clients are based overseas, including the UK and US. If a role is with an international client, we will tell you before sharing your details, and only share them where that country or client offers protection similar to POPIA, or with your consent.

How long we keep it and how we protect it

We keep candidate information for up to 2 years of our last contact with you, so we can consider you for future roles. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.

We keep client and placement records for as long as South African tax and business record laws require. After that, we delete or anonymise them.

We protect your information with password-protected accounts, secure email and limited access. Only the people who need it to do their work can see it. If we ever have reason to believe your information has been accessed without authorisation, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies so that pages and the vacancy brief form work properly. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.

Your rights

Under POPIA you can ask us, free of charge, to:

Email shannen@veritypartners.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Regulator:
