Who we are
Verity Partners is a founder-led recruitment and talent consultancy based in South Africa. This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you use veritypartners.co.za, brief us on a vacancy, or apply for a role through us.
We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). For this policy, Verity Partners is the “responsible party”.

Information we collect
We only collect what we need to recruit well. Most of it comes directly from you.
Clients and employers
- Name, job title, company, email address and phone number
- Vacancy details you share with us, such as the role, location, contract type and requirements
Candidates
- Name, contact details and location
- Your CV, work history, qualifications and skills
- Current and expected salary, notice period and career preferences
- Interview notes and references, with your permission
- An ID number or right-to-work details only when a client needs them at offer stage
Website visitors
- Anything you type into our vacancy brief form
- Basic technical information your browser sends, such as device type and pages visited, through essential cookies
We do not ask for special personal information (such as health, religion or criminal record) unless the law or a specific role requires it. If it does, we ask for your consent first.
How we use and share it
We use your information to match the right people with the right roles, and for nothing unrelated to that.
- Clients: to understand your hiring needs, run the search, present candidates and manage the placement.
- Candidates: to assess your fit for roles, contact you about opportunities, arrange interviews and support you through an offer.
- Everyone: to reply to enquiries, keep proper business records and meet our legal obligations.
We rely on your consent, on steps needed to provide a service you asked for, on our legitimate interest in running a recruitment business, or on a legal duty. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
- Prospective employers: we only send your CV or details to a client after discussing the specific role with you.
- Service providers: trusted companies that host our website and email, or support Employer of Record and outsourcing services. They may only use your information to provide that service.
- Authorities: when the law requires it.
We never sell your personal information.
Clients outside South Africa
Some of our clients are based overseas, including the UK and US. If a role is with an international client, we will tell you before sharing your details, and only share them where that country or client offers protection similar to POPIA, or with your consent.
How long we keep it and how we protect it
We keep candidate information for up to 2 years of our last contact with you, so we can consider you for future roles. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
We keep client and placement records for as long as South African tax and business record laws require. After that, we delete or anonymise them.
We protect your information with password-protected accounts, secure email and limited access. Only the people who need it to do their work can see it. If we ever have reason to believe your information has been accessed without authorisation, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Cookies
Our website uses essential cookies so that pages and the vacancy brief form work properly. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.

Under POPIA you can ask us, free of charge, to:
- Confirm whether we hold your personal information and give you a copy
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Delete your information when we no longer need it
- Stop contacting you about roles or services
- Withdraw consent you have given
Email shannen@veritypartners.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
